4-9-20 THOUGHTS

John 12:27-33  "Now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28  "Father, glorify Your name." Then a voice came out of heaven: "I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again." 29  So the crowd of people who stood by and heard it were saying that it had thundered; others were saying, "An angel has spoken to Him." 30  Jesus answered and said, "This voice has not come for My sake, but for your sakes. 31  "Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. 32  "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself." 33  But He was saying this to indicate the kind of death by which He was to die.

Read this several times.  Get the ETERNAL POWER that is in them.  Right now, we need to get the “troubled soul” idea.  Try to identify...  Imagine...  Put yourself in his place!  Do not miss the fact that this is hard on the Father also!  This is LOVE AT ITS HIGHEST LEVEL!   This is the very process of GOD COMING DOWN.

Heb 10:5-10     Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, "SACRIFICE AND OFFERING YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, BUT A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME;  6  IN WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE TAKEN NO PLEASURE. 7   "THEN I SAID, ‘BEHOLD, I HAVE COME (IN THE SCROLL OF THE BOOK IT IS WRITTEN OF ME) TO DO YOUR WILL, O GOD.’"  8  After saying above, "SACRIFICES AND OFFERINGS AND WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, NOR HAVE YOU TAKEN PLEASURE in them" (which are offered according to the Law), 9  then He said, "BEHOLD, I HAVE COME TO DO YOUR WILL." He takes away the first in order to establish the second. 10  By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.    (Once for all time)

The end of earth for our savior is in front of him.  No wonder his soul was troubled.
    But as soon as the suffering thought hits him, he says
                        “But for this purpose I came to this hour.”
He sees the finishing of God’s eternal wisdom.      Church... THIS IS AWESOME!
Eph 1:7-12    In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace 8  which He lavished on us. In all wisdom and insight 9  He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him 10  with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him 11  also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, 12  to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory.

My Prayer:   Lord, help us to see the COST of our redemption.  At this time in my life, of all times, may I be able to deeply consider just how much you love us.  And then O God, help us to love you with ALL our heart, soul and mind!   May we know your presence today.
